Beetle-Kill, I sympathize.. maybe raise your price to fix low guys mistakes.. he will make more.. We got a local builder in area that is so famous for his short cuts 75% of home owners insurance companies have red flagged him and will not insure what he's built. and those that do accept his homes have premiums triple what average is. But he sells them. he puts in pretty tile that always Crack and granite counters that hit the floor when pressed plywood cabinets deteriorate because he didn't even caulk the kitchen sink!:picard:

It's sad that even a house is built to a price. Of course, the television remodel shows help things along so everybody must have granite, double vanities, hardwood throughout, and fourteen bathrooms. But nobody seems to ask/care about how a house is actually built. Floor joists? Foundation? 2x4 or 2x6 construction? Water supply layout and equipment (especially with well water!)? Electrical? Roof? Insulation? How about the driveway..... Is it going to be a pothole ridden/heaving mess in 10 years?

The fact that the term "builders/contractor grade" even exists bothers me. I hate cheap junk. Functions just long enough to make it past closing? Who thought this was a good idea?

Well said. I grimace at some of those home "improvement" shows. Too many of them are building something half azz that look good now, but won't last.

Agreed. He knows his stuff. I remember another show that would do a kitchen remodel, drywall, paint, everything in just hours...while the couple was out for a long date. Arggggg!

Getting ready to mix up some liquid weed killer in the backpack sprayer. This has got to be the earliest I've ever sprayed. Usually it's a may application, not april.

Then it's on to sun bathing and beer drinking.

Easy to sort the good from the bad. I like the ones where they show the framing, plumbing and electrical work that takes place and why certain decisions were made. (Economy, durability, ecological benefit, etc) The ones that have some sort of cheesy sideshow going on and show a miraculously transformed home when the homeowners return hours or a few days later, not so much. I don't mind product advertising either, especially when the product is good. But I'm not a big fan of the shows that just pimp product after product with little to no other info.

I gad an issue back when Page and Ty were doing their show. They would have a dark gloss on the walls. The see where they missed the first time and would "touch up".
    Would look lousy.

I need a beer, but unfortunately not tonite.
ColdStone Creamery : yes... after pt.
