I'm not a camaro fan, but that's impressive for a stock camaro SS. Those start at like 45k.

Edit, sorry, the 1ss package starts at 37,xxx.

Holy smokes! Talk about smoking! I can understand why he didn't know how fast he was going. Passenger too. I'd probably be wanting a change of shorts about then.

Sounds like he might not be driving that for a while after he goes to court. Fastest I have ever driven was 140 mph and a passenger at 160 mph in a PPG car at The Cleveland Gran Prix.

Wow.................up here they have a charge called stunt driving if you decide 50+ kph over the posted limit. That gets you and immediate forfeiture of your license and seizure of your vehicle for 7 days. You pay the towing and storage and get to walk home. When you get to court, the fine starts at about $2 grand and you get 14 demerit points on your DL....................and then, your insurance company really gives your sex life a REAL boost.

    Yes.
The other forum I am on is camaro5.com
Unless they move everything over to camaro6 ( which the site owner also has).
I rarely post over in "the other place", but do read there to see if anything interesting shows up.

I liked this part of the article.

"I hit the lights and siren and called it in to the State Patrol. ... I had to get my car up to 135 just to get close enough for him to see my lights on," Padden said.

The driver, a 36-year-old Lakeside man, pulled over quickly "which is good because we'd probably be in Canada right now," Padden joked.

I saw that on Yahoo earlier this week. I can't imagine 171, I hit 140 on my CBR once and decided that was enough for me. I still had another gear left but realized a squirrel in the road could ruin my day at those speeds.

And just think about those idiots who like to go way over 100 mph on motorcycles! Imagine a deer crossing the road...

Well. salt flats is where you find them, I guess.
I don't suppose Minnesota is much different than Michigan-meaning that every highway could be considered "salt flats" after winter months!
