I thought black cherry for the downed tree at first, but it may just be a shadow making the bark appear darker. The rest of the rounds and the snapped off stump look like red maple. A couple of the rounds in your pile might be cherry though. I think I see one piece of elm in there as well. Both are very easy to split in my experience unless the grain does funny things. All of that looks pretty straight though.
Should be easy splitting. Yard maples can get knotty and twisted. Forest grown tend to be much straighter and knot free.
