Coffee injection going in. Road trip to deer camp to retrieve the mills for backwoods savage's gtg. While im there, I will inspect the co op right of way trimming they did a couple weeks back.

Once I'm back, it's tax time grrrrrrr.

Definitely try the craft beer's then. A lot of craft brewers have set up shop in Ontario..................

Rain stopped. Gotta mow and get some other chores done today. Coffee needs to soak in first.

Bought a second chain for the new bar with the gift certificate from in-laws. Time to give it a try.

 

Wow is this longer bar and chain nice! I had to try it out on a downed tree and get use to it so I don't hit the ground. LOL I'm not very tall so it wouldn't be hard. But this is great! Much less bending over!

This full skip/chisel chain loves to slice through the Pine! Like butter.

 

For those that haven't done taxes yet, I saw on the national news that one couple used h&r block walk-in, turbotax at home and a professional tax service ( accountant) and the big winner for most refund was turbotax. It was a hefty amount that it won by. An accountant can do them as well as turbotax, but it's going to cost a lot more than turbotax, even with the more expensive versions like I need to buy. H&r block, is going to rip you off.

 

Dang! I used block this year instead of using turbo like my daughter suggested.

 

Made the trip across the state to see my oldest boy and his fiance. Brought over a load of their stuff for their new house (woo-hoo less stuff at our house!) and to help him layout a new fence.

Decided to pull up an old sidewalk that was in poor shape, where the new fence is going to cross.



One broken pick axe and a busted sledge hammer later we got enough removed to let him get started.



I ended up taking them to Menards and buying them a wheel barrow to haul dirt, then took them out to lunch afterwards.

Kids....even as adults they are still expensive!

Now, does anyone need some old concrete?

 

schlot , I will have much the same project going on here at 99's this summer. This raises some questions.

1. Will you help me too?
2. Can I put the old concrete in your truck?
3. Will you buy me lunch and take me to Menards?

And most importantly

4. Tell the truth now, you wouldn't have it any other way than to be able to help out with your son, right?

4....darn right. He was very appreciative and a fine young man. I've messed up plenty of things in my lifetime. But he's not one of them.

 

Well I worked about five hours outside today. I'm cutting some firewood while thinning out another section of woods where the wife's future horses will roam. The new bar and chain is working great!

Now it is time for another break. A cold drink, and to get ready to go for my walk/run with the two 12 y.o. kids. It is a beautiful day out and we will get a good and long one in this afternoon.

Ah, old concrete is the new "urbanite". It is popular with the recycler folks. I've torn up old concrete walkways and reset the chunks down for the walk leading to and around the outdoor oven.

In a small area of our yard I have broken concrete, old bricks, fieldstone and limestone for walkways. All leftovers from demolition and projects.
