    It could well be a London Plane tree too.
    Was it harvested near a river or near the suburbs?

    Either way, basically the same wood.

    Does it drop all of the foliage or does it just turn brown for the winter?

    Nice picture! Is that a Tamarak/Larch? I have never seen a rust orange one. Our tamarak go golden yellow before losing needles. It's hard to tell in the small photo but it looks like a dead pine to me with those colors.

    Dawn Redwood.

    Green 2 seasons. Pumpkin orange in the Fall. Bare in winter.

    Got about 15 around the property.
