Didnt think I would have a full wood box on April 5th. Thinking this might be the last fill up of the season. It's been a great first year of burning for me. Thanks to everyone here it has been safe and effective, couldn't have done it without everyone. From November of 2014-March 2015 I paid $1949.01 in electric bills. From the same period this year I paid $545.98. Thats a savings of $1403.03!!!! Needless to say the NC30 has basically paid for itself. Yes last year was colder and all that but guess what I will be ready for those years now and still be saving money. So again thanks for all the help in my first of many many years to come.
So you had only electric heat before getting the stove? That's a healthy savings. My stove paid for itself in one season this year too.
Good job and nice to see immediate savings as you did! I bet you had that "Aunt Jemima moment" what took you so long? (Remember those commercials?)
My first year (2013-2014) worked out about the same as yours, cape. That's an awesome feeling. Oil was pushing $4 a gallon. I bought the stove, SS flue liner, and wood (7-8 cords). But the pay back was fast. I've burned less than 1/4 of the oil the last three winters. Makes you feel like your stickin' it to the man !!!
I have been waiting for e- bill savings from you! Glad to hear about the $$ and hoping you and the Mrs were alot warmer this winter.
Don't count on this being your last burning. Perhaps after another week it may be though but first, another cold shot coming. We're not expected to get above freezing tomorrow and snow on the way. We'll send you the leftovers. lol
