Storm damage, close to the truck, nothing to hit during the drop, high BTUs, two more stems for later, light dusting of snow and a beautiful drive home..... You sure you weren't out there filming an Old Milwaukee commercial?!?!?!?!

Love Beech, and the wilderness. Any Grouse or Snowshoe Hares in that area?

Looks like like a fine day in the woods. I took a little walk this afternoon and found a couple nice beech that were pushed over with the dozer so next weekend will be a trip to the beech. Had I known it was there I may have went yesterday, but instead I split about 1.5 cords of stuff that I had sitting at home so only have about 5 more cord to split. Hey now I have room for beech.

Stuckinthemud - I sure wish I had some helpers like in that commercial!

Jrcurto - no snowshoes. Been a long time since I have seen grouse but they are around!

LP - not 100% sure but probably white oak. The whole area was logged 2-3 years ago. It's ashame I'm just getting to cut there, since most of the logging down fall is punky now.

I really fell in love with this Beech wood. Thin bark, splits easy, just a fun wood to process. Can't wait to burn it!

You can't beat Beech, great firewood. We just pushed some in today for this coming cold stretch.

Looks good Bryan and not too much snow to make things interesting. Many times I wish we had some beech but the only ones we have left now are too small for firewood. They don't grow very fast either.
