And it dries fast. The only thing I don't care for is the amount of ash it leaves behind. During shoulder season I like burning silver maple because it isn't as hot but I need to clean the ashes out of the stove far more often than I would with something like oak or locust.

I bet that gave off the best smoke- woulda been something in a meat smoker! But over on this side of the pond, those get cut in half and sold at the Big Box stores as planters for $40-50 A PIECE!!!
I told the wife I wanted to use the maple for the burgers tonight and she was up for it. Well I ran out of time and nice weather so I just used pecan instead of the maple.
