Mike, thanks for sharing. So...what happens next? Have to admit, that news coverage did not paint a pretty picture. Do you anticipate this effort will proceed in some other form of action to get justice for the affected clients who paid their hard earned money and never got their product?
Yes we are going after him for fraud!! He even lied to the bankruptcy trustee under oath! The AG now needs to do their part!!
He filed bankruptcy two previous times!!! I think it might be hard to prove he took everyone's money knowingly he was going to file bankruptcy but he is still a piece of chit doing that to all of those people. I so hope he gets what's coming to him. It might not be today, tomorrow or next week but karma will catch up to him at some point.
you should tell us how you really feel!!!! lol Couldn't agree with you more. It gives a bad name to all pellet suppliers.
That kind of stuff really burns my azz to take people's money and not deliver. We had a family run circular knitting business back in my previous life and we had gotten burned in basically the exact same way. We produced material for a customer and we never got paid and low and behold, he filed bankruptcy for what apparently was a second or third time......I'm not even sure how you can do that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Easy peasy different incorporations. One of the reasons for incorporation is to shield the "owner's" assets from being seized in the event things go wrong for any reason including less than honest ones.
Our government is letting this happen!! How can you open several LLCs file for bankruptcy protection and move on to the next LLC?? Someone should be held accountable for letting people like this get away and keep on scamming people!!!! This is his third time and other family members are doing the same... I guess the apple didn't fall far from that tree!!!
Piercing the Corporate shield is not that difficult if the Corp or LLC is an owner operated business. The shield works to protect owners in non owner companies. Where the owner is making the business decision the shield is largely non existent when malfeasance can be shown. Course it is not easy to show intentional malfeasance.
unfortunately, there probably will not be any money returned to creditors, but it would help to see this guy spend some quality time as a guest of the corrections dept.
You're not alone. I and others on this site tried to warn one of the people that bought pellets there but he didn't listen. He was a lucky one and got his money back.
Update: The CT AG is officially going after him! AG files lawsuit after wood pellet company leaves customers in the cold
