My job finally slowed down for a couple weeks,I've only missed 6.5 days in the past 10 months - a ton of overtime including mostly 10-12 hr days all last summer + 8-9 Saturdays in a row until late October. Next project isn't to start until mid April,so I finally have some free time (no real vacation for me until this Fall maybe) to finish up some of the cleanup I started last June/July & stopped last November. I should be finished with most of it next week sometime,weather permitting.Found about 1 more pickup load today,plus the 3-4 left from last summer/fall that needs to be hauled in & processed. Besides,any excuse to run my Pro Mac 850 w/ 20" bar is welcome. That screaming beast is like a lazer with a short bar.I buried a 28"/skip chain in Red Oak last summer,hardly even slowed it down any.....
Good to hear things are slowing down a bit Thistle. We haven't seen a lot of posting from you for a while and miss you. And speaking of missing, I still miss a couple of my old McCullogh saws. Still have a small one but haven't done anything with it for a long time now. I think all I need is some new dogs in the recoil starter but don't remember for sure. One of those future jobs.

Did some more today,about another half pickup load roughly.Should be around 4.5 total now.Pretty much caught up with falling those last few snags, carrying on my shoulder the poles/chunks up the one side of steep slope then piling it up in a couple spots along one side of south trail.I limit myself to 50-75 pounds or so max when carrying anything much of a distance. Sure it keeps me in shape but I'm not a young man anymore,dont want to cause any more pain doing something stupid that would effect my ability to perform my regular job.Especially since I have almost 3 years to go before I can even consider early retirement.... Unfortunately its still too wet/muddy to get over there with the pickup or JD 110/trailer combo to start hauling it out. I have tool belt/pouches with falling wedges,wrenches,other tools around my waist, saw in right hand (82cc ProMac 850/20" bar today/last week) & X27/sheath in left hand as I walk the thousand or more feet up & over 3 hills to my destination.....Sure was easier when I was 25-30 doing this....I could practically RUN up & down those slopes,even on a humid July-August day.... Will take a few more weeks to dry out,plus some more windy days before I can start bringing it in though.By then work will be busy again & I'll just wait until later in Fall most likely. These old things really help my traction on those steep muddy slopes,also great in winter with packed snow/ice.They do the job until I can drop some serious coin on a good pair of calk boots.... I waterproofed them a while back & they're holding up quite nicely.
Sure hope so....Had barely normal snowfall amount for the winter plus a lot of rain in early December at first.Ground is quite saturated over a good part of the state now. Good chance of rain tomorrow,may seen 1" plus by Wednesday mid day...
