So far, these things are burning well. The pellets look to be a smaller diameter than the testers I burned last season (maybe they changed up their die's???) They are also shorter in length than the ones I burned last season. There looks to be less ash than my Presto/Ligs and the glass has stayed clean. I know subsailor had an issue with a bag so definitely try a few first but based on this one bag they "seem" to be pretty decent.
I'd be buying a few tons if it wasn't because we have plans to maybe move out of CT later this year...
What is the big deal with ash anyways? We can hust give it to the wood burrners. Somehow, they have some magic that allows the to burn beachs and ash in their stoves? Since i run my stove on low most of the time, there really isn't enough airflow to send the lighter ash up the chimney. It just settles around the burnpot. High ash or low ash pellets, I still get about the same amount of ash to remove unless I am running a higher rate.
I was real happy with the first 4 or 5 bags I burned but then the ash hit and I haven't burned anymore. I have 2 more in the garage and 5 in the basement that I expect will be high ash because they came from the same 10 bag purchase. I also have 30 in the basement that I bought before I got into the ash, so I'm hoping they are good ones.
Tried the 1st bag last night, although heat seemed like better than chows, this Timbre Heat has LOTS of fines.....
After trying the Timber Heat and the Natures Own, I am liking the Natures Own from Lowes.....a bit of fines but not bad and no clinkers so far.
I'm happy with the Natures Own as well. I like them better than the Inferno Gold. But the good bags of Timber Heat I burned were better than both of them. Hotter and less ash.
The irony here is you guys both like Natures Own, but chances are one is really burning chows and other is burning firesides.
