It's not the "GOVERNMENT" or anyone else to decide "WHAT" I eat, drink, smoke or anything else!!!!! And, taxpayers shouldn't be paying for it!!! If your stupid enough to do it, "OH WELL" not my problem! You shouldn't be responsible for me and vise versa. :zip: It's the bleeding hearts who want to save the world, and they don't realize it just can't be done. So be smart about it and get a job, pay for benefits and don't live past your means!

I can say for sure that we have not yet sunk to that level. We have filled disposable coveralls with shredded paper to use as Tangos before. :sherlock:

I watched the entire video. It's very unfortunate that the lady got burned.
I respect your opinion, here's mine....
She ordered hot coffee, it's hot. She spilled it in her lap. It burned her. Hot coffee is hot and will burn you. Apparently hot coffee its now 10F cooler due to the lawsuit, but if you spill it in your lap, its gonna burn you, its hot coffee.
My stove, range, toaster or exhaust manifold can/will burn me. And sometimes they do. I got out of the shower ~35 years ago and climbed onto the dryer to reach the cabinet for a towel, slipper off and landed on an electric space heater. Still have a grill scar burned into my leg. It was hot. My fault.
I have a lot of scars, learned a lot of obvious things the hard way.

Not going to get into specifics, google can tell you all that, but the 2 ingredients are so ingrained in every day life that banning them would be like trying to ban water or oxygen (in the US anyway).

But I will say from experience.... This stuff, one pound of it, tannerite brand or not, can launch a railroad plate over 100 yds.

3 lbs of it inside of a lawn mower, at 40 feet, is asking for huge problems.. ask and you shall receive.

Local guy here about 20 miles from me blew a car up with who knows how much of that stuff. No one was injured.
Set off the USGS seismograph in Ohio , 100+ miles away.
I heard it at my place.
Don't remember hearing what charges he faced but the state police nailed him and hes on a federal watch list now.

I don't understand what that has to do with the McDonalds situation. I'm not seeing the the apples to apples comparison you are trying to draw here. You kinda sidetracked with a "Well I did this once and .... " story. I burnt myself on a hot popcorn popper once, scar is still here 30 years later. Cool story right? Still has no bearing on the McDonalds coffee suit.

Secondly I didn't give my opinion on it so I'm not sure you really know what it is. I just said I don't reference the infamous McDonalds coffee incident anymore because there's a lot more to it than that. I put that link out there to show there's more to it than "someone suing mcdonalds over hot coffee." Take away what you want from it.

Maybe you got the wrong impression that I believe that the "government" should decide what or how much of any legal substance people eat or drink. I DONT
I do realize and don't think it will ever change that public money is being spent on people who make poor decisions. That goes for legal and illegal consumption. How much money is being spent on the heroin addicted since it has become a suburban problem? Now its a "disease" with innocent victims lol. All the soccer moms demanding more "treatment" for their precious offspring. They could care less when it was a minority problem.
There has to be some Government or rule of law to protect the general population from a percentage of itself. For instance- idiots smoking "legal" bath salts and freaking out on innocent bystanders. Then the outcry as to why "nobody" did anything before it happened.
Back to almost the original subject. The reason I told my son to put up the guns and forget we had used the tannerite in the prescribed manner. As a target- not a means to explode something as most of the people who get themselves in trouble do. Was because I didn't trust that it wouldn't be interrupted as illegal. In a state where fireworks are illegal and people have been arrested for aluminum foil and chloride in a pop bottle noise maker under an explosives charge...I'm amazed you can still get tannerite.

Still off subject and at the risk of being run out of town lol- I have drunk a lot of hot drinks and don't think I have ever had one hot enough to cause third degree burns if spilled. McDonald's apparently was aware their coffee was too hot and had many prior incidents of people being burned. Paying the old ladies medical bills would have been the better way to go IMO. They went to court and put their faith in a jury....big mistake.
It's a shame how that old lady became the target of so much ridicule.

Wow that sucks that the guy lost his leg, but this was all his own fault. I've shot a lot of tannerite and still have some at home. It's getting a little harder to find as some smaller stores closer to home have stopped selling it because of things like this. They don't want and can't afford to get sued over someone using it wrong like this guy did. That's pure stupidity, close range, too much explosive, and add shrapnel to the mix. We've never been anywhere near a bottle when it's shot, normally a long ways off shooting with optics at a single target and not blowing anything else up.
