Some other stuff.... I have 37 issues of Chain Saw Age magazine from 1973 to 1979 (published from 1952 to 1992,only seen at saw/small engine repair/OPE shops & not at newsstands),including the super rare 1982 30th anniversary edition.

Friend of mine is a dealer and we trade stuff back and forth, any time I end up with a NOS saw that I have considerably less than retail in, I somehow can justify stashing it away. Can't work out any worse than my 401 has.

I saw and recognized the packaged up brand new tank handle as well (bought a few of those) but I was looking at that box under the table mainly. Haha

Hi Dave. I have a brand new Stihl hat that I don't see in your collection . Last July I went to Europe to visit my family and this came back with me from a Stihl dealer there. A trade perhaps ? :) :) :)

    Stihl OEM New Chainsaw "D" starter handle MS460 MS660 088 066 064 1128 195 3401

The Stihl ones aren't too expensive. They can probably be had at the dealer for a little less.

"How to bring Christmas Spirit to every room" atop a pile of NIB Stihl chainsaws....  You, sir, are welcome to come over and decorate my place anytime... ;)  Awesome collection!

I like that you find humor in it, when I started putting NIB saws in the spare bedroom, my better half didn't see any humor in it. In fact, when it comes to saws there isn't much she finds humor in anymore.

Well in that case, I think I can offer you some assistance with this "problem". :handshake: I have a couple of rooms that could use a little "Christmas Spirit"... :D

Hey Definitive Dave, your mess is a little less of a mess than mine. I need more shelves, the boss says I need less saws. Sometimes I wish she could see why that isn't the problem..... Bought out another closed down dealer and have no where to put it.

yeah it takes some discipline to keep from outgrowing your space :)
These days I wont even keep a parts saw if it isn't for a saw I enjoy owning and running.
If a guy drops off 50 MS290 parts saws, I got a guy I can call to come get them, same with most of the Stihls and all the huskys.
Nobody around here wants anything else really.
My OCD likes a clean work area and it is relaxing to organize stuff for me.
If you want to make friends, money and space at the same time, invite some saw-nuts over for a yard sale :)
I still talk to several of the guys who came to mine.

For the D handles, be aware that the Stihl version is a little oversized, if you have small hands it may not be comfortable, they are meant for firefighters in heavy gloves to use for starting the rescue saws.
John told me they are more comfortable for him to use with grip tape wrapped around the handle and for really high compression GTG saws he uses the core of an elastostart inside the center of the D handle.
I also stock the Oregon D handle which is a thinner more angular profile, it is more comfy for smaller hands, but doesn't have the magic brand name on it :)
I have some saws that can bruise the palm of my hand if not started properly so I am always on the lookout for a better grip.

That would work, but we are in two different sides of the business, the majority of your business is AM parts, the majority of mine is buying and selling saws, so parts are gold to me. I don't want to sell a parts saw as I will eventually need the parts off of it. I typically broom all the saws I get that aren't Husky and Stihl because I can't seem to sell them. I also get rid of 009,010,011,015,020AV,028,031,032,041 saws I get cause I never build those either. If I end up with something that isn't a Stihl or Husky it's because it's something I wanted for myself or it came with a batch of saws I bought.
