From the Portland Maine Sunday paper.... Wood products companies look for ways to branch out - The Portland Press Herald / Maine Sunday Telegram
Yup... it sure is good that our wood industries have found other things to produce... our paper industry is on life support. We've lost 5 out of 12 paper mills in the last 2 years. Each one effects 1000 or more indirect jobs in their areas. My good buddy from HS is the head of the electrical dept at Madison Paper. He may get lucky... the news said a few employees will remain to run the elec generation section of the mill. Maybe he'll still have a job there.
