Happy Easter everyone. Who is going to cut some firewood today?

I am going to try to get out and cut some firewood this afternoon. The morning will go to Easter brunch at wife's brother's house. Dinner will be at 5 at our house. Just the wife's parents coming over. Should be a nice quiet dinner. So that leaves about 4 hours I can get out and enjoy the nice weather. The sun is out and the temps are suppose to be close to 60! I will try to get some firewood cut and a few trees thinned out of this over populated woods.:saw:

I am done cutting firewood until next Fall. Our winter was so mild with no snow and I was able to spend a lot of time in the woods. I C,S&S 6 cord of wood. I have about 14 cord now which is the most I've ever had.
I am doing some painting today before dinner with my extended family.

YES SIR!! Going to fire up the splitter for an hour or two anyway. We have a lot of catching up to do on the wood pile. I will of course post up a pic or 2 when we head over to the families for lunch to show signs of progress. Happy Easter cuttin'!:saw::axe:

I was stuck cleaning the garage yesterday due to rain. Just waiting for my wife and the rest of the town to wake up before I start my saw.

I might go out today. I've cut two loads on Friday and 2 loads on Saturday. Wife and kids are coming home today - not sure what time. If it's later I may go out. There's a pretty big tree in the national forest that I've been dying to get but I may wait until I have kid help for that one. Weather is going to be just about perfect for cutting today here.

It is the driest spring I've ever seen here. This last Tuesday I moved about 4 cord with the loader up to the house and dumped in front of the shed and the pass through to the wood room while the yard was dry = no ruts. Usually I do it early mornings after the snow is off and ground froze .This way I can pick at it here and there as I have time . Kickoff to my busy season is gonna happen any day.
So other than a little stacking I'm done for the year.

I promised to make a fallen oak in the neighbors yard disappear. I might be out this afternoon doing that. It should take only an hour or two.

I think I will try and get some wood in today. I just love being in the timber. Plus I know Jesus will be there.

I made a small dent in the pile this morning, but have a long way to go.

I need to hurry or I'll be killing part of my lawn. It was too wet to get the trailer where it needed to be when my "firewood guy" called for a load of hard wood to be picked up.

Not for me but I may load the garage with wood since Ive used up my close to the stove stack. I will also take the dog for a walk to my cutting area to see if the snow is gone there. We are supposed to get rain turning to snow today so we will see. Im also doing a smoked turkey today which Ive never done before so that should be fun.

Send some of that dry here please. Way too wet to get out into the pasture with the tractor to cut firewood. Turf tires just won't get it done. Decided to pull an engine, re-seal a valve bank, and put together some parts lists to stay ahead of things in the shop. Firewood would be funner though.
