It looks like I'll get a couple of single digit days (one week from now) out of this threat, but heck man, its still early, right?
It's definitely still too early to think any of us are out of the wood stove heat "woods" that's for sure.....
Crazy yo yo weather. Poor plants will suffer for it. Lots of fruit trees that are not indigenous to the area are most likely to be impacted.
Hopefully Saturday stays relatively warm. It's my daughters birthday and I just picked up a trampoline for her. I was hoping she could help me put it together on Saturday.
We are supposed to get 30-50mm of rain starting tonight. Had 6" of snow and a 1/2" of ice last thur/fri. Hopefully, this rain will soften up and melt the foot and a half of white "concrete" we have on the ground now.
I'm thinking the amount of snow we have left is now way less than 1 1/2 feet here Rotti. And thats good. Almost half of the yard at the cottage and here are snow free. Well, as soon as the stuff from yesterday and last night melts, that is.
We have 2 and one is full of buds and ready to pop, the other just coming. I have seen a few already strating to open. Mowed 1st time y-day, early for that.
Actually, its still early for a melt this size, but then after such a hard winter... ( ) I'll take it!!
Well this more than 1 week old prediction came true today. With the wind chill we were sitting in the single digits (F) here this morning. Sun's out and the wind has subsided so we have climbed into the low 20's now. I hope this doesn't affect the plants in bloom. We have tulips and crocuses poking through in our southern facing flower beds.
We have flowers poking through too, even some trees budding. 20s overnight the next few days, will strain the trees a bit.
