I've had to replace a few of the new style flippy caps because of the internal locking mechanism. I just acquired a new style cap that you just turn with your hand like a standard cap. Very handy.... I got them from definitive dave from a GTG this past weekend. Fit and finish is very nice. Not sure where to find them, but I'm sure he can help.
Thanks for the shout-out You guys corrupted me enough I bought my first Husky yesterday. if somebody needs the non flippy caps shoot me a PM
The bar is pretty worn and heavy as lead, way heavier than any other 18" bar in my arsenal, and of course it has a different tooth count from my 18" stihl .325 chains so I will have to break and spin before I can run it in wood. But it seems pretty clean and still have at least 40% of its fasteners. Weirdest air filter and holding clip arrangement I have ever seen, tiny bar tensioner screw and I have heard the intake boot clamps on huskys are problematic. It ain't no Dolmar but at least it ain't one of those slow 044s. Dave is the model plate for these under the handlebar mount and how do I find out when it was built?
I think te plate is on the side near the front by muffler right? Don't it actually say the year on them?
It's on the clutch side behind the end of the top handle. I'm not sure on how to read the dates, but a quick search on Google should provide you with what you need!! This was the saw I was gonna let you run all weekend. I just bought a Husq 365 (to build a hella 4 cube saw for next year). So I was gonna run that, my 440 Arctic, or my EC 390xp. Dennis told me there will be an Alaskan Mill or 2 at his GTG. So the 390 will be making an appearance
yep on the bay, actually from Hong Kong which I am not sure is a difference anymore to the Chinese, but is a separate place if you ask the folks in Hong Kong
How do these lock down? Do they have an internal mechanism similar to the standard flippy caps and just lack the flip-up handle, or are they different on the back side too? We need some 'under the hood' pictures of these.
If I hadn't got by the last decade + fine with the ones I have I would be all over buying them!! Maybe when one breaks?
