I was somewhat on the Greene Team band wagon. Did pretty well for the money.... Might even pay a lil bit more for em. And supporting Robbie had a good feeling!! But this chit is just pain silly. Ludacris comes to mind. Possible brain washing even brain draining......... I don't get it!! They lost me as soon as the price went up. "But its a hardwood" is whats spoken every time I ask why such a price difference! I usually reply with yep, "But it aint no softwood neither"!! You should see dem odd azz looks I get with that reply. I highly doubt any of them ever saw a dandy softy or even a quality hardwood for that matter!!Them GT's don't burn any better than the Energex(chow-NO) blend that's sitting right freakin next to em. Actually I think the GT's have more ash than the Energex for that matter!!
I'm still waiting for HD to have a $199 fire sale. It was Lowes around here that started that, then went down to $99.
The Lowes truck came today. Delivered 4 tons. Happy, happy, happy. That was the buy one get one. three weeks before, I got in on the $199 deal thinking that was good. I got two tons then. These bags are intact. They will be in front of the garage for a bit. I'm not up to moving them or getting help with it at this time. The delivery man said that he had several drops in my surrounding neighbor hood. He said he had to go back to the store to get subsailor pellets. But the brand would all be the same. They are Nature's choice from what he said. They are covered with a white wrap so I can't see through it. Not feeling good for now so I'll look at them a bit more later on when I feel better. I figure that I saved $120 on the first two tons @199/ton and $640 on the the last 4 tons. $760 in savings is really worth the up front effort.
For consistency I'm going to ask will711 to create the new $3.99 non-store specific score thread. I will pay him in smoothies.
Nice one Save. Pictures, we need pictures. Same goes for everyone's scores! I hope you feel better soon.
it is Natures something or other, Not sure. Haven't taken the plastic off to look yet. Too sick to go out. I'm waiting to hear what subsailor has to say as he is getting the same today as I have. My pellets are parked in front of the the garage. My son uses the garage about every day for something or other so I suspect those pellets will be moved fairly soon. I'm not going to worry about them while they are wrapped up.
Same here. Picked up 9 bags GT at the beginning of the 2014 season to give them a shot. At the time they were $6 and I paid just under $5 with a "10$ off $50 on-line purchase" coupon. Needless to say, after burning through them I was left scratching my head. They were good, performed similar to chows, ligs, timber heats, etc. but it makes no sense placing them in a higher price category. TBH, I really prefer chows and ligs over the GTs. Neat trick with the absurd price, but it must be working, because they seem to sell?
I don't think anybody on this site gets it and we all pretty much agree on the performance of the pellet. GT denies that they have anything to do with Lowes pricing of their product but to me that is a bunch of bullchit. I'd bet my stash Lowes is paying more for them than they do other pellets.
Three tons arrived today! The driver was awesome and slid them all in the garage with the spider lift. I tossed him a few bucks for helping me out. Left to right: Cheat River, Natures Own (Energex IIRC?) and Green Supreme. Oink! Oink! And proud of it. Almost wish I bought more! We'll be waxing poetic about this sale for years to come.
I know that they charge more , one dealer told me so and he stopped carrying them , I'm interested to see if Lowe's even carry's them next year
I'm sure my wife would understand: "Well, they're in the living room because I had to even out the weight so the house wouldn't tilt..." Thanks for the heads up on this sale Iron Stove! BIG savings on this load!
