I have 2 and only need one (if that) so this one is going on the block. I fired it up yesterday and it ran well but is idling high. We are in the midst of another snowstorm and I was not in the mood to stand outside in 18 degree weather to adjust the carb. No breaks or damaged plastics, bot the bolt and nut at the top of the dog are missing. Saw is hitting 160 PSI on my gauge and the piston is clean. Comes with a functional 16" Stihl laminated bar that has major paint loss and a very highly used chain. Asking $240 plus shipping from 40502. If not using PayPal Family and Friends please cover the fees.
I just looked at the cylinder and discovered that it is aftermarket. I have posted a couple of pictures below, any ideas on its origins? The carb turns out to be aftermarket as well.
Very good price on this saw. If I didn't already have one I'd jump all over it. 036 is a very good overall firewood saw. Plus there's many parts still available. Pro level saw for under 3 bills? I'm gonna do my taxes tomorrow. You guys better hope I don't get a big refund or I'm buying this thing. It's great with an 18 inch bar. Put a 16 on it and it's a lightsaber Side note. I paid 375 for one this past year. Carb is aftermarket on it
Looks like a stock carb to me, a lot of 034s and 036s came with zama carbs, with early ones stamped with Hong Kong like the one on this saw.
Even with an aftermarket cylinder. This is a great deal. And Gary is a stand up guy in my opinion. Very thorough in going through a saw!
Why weren't saws like this selling at these prices when I was looking for them? This is a great price.
