Sun is trying to break up the cloud cover - finally. Still in the 40's, but supposed to get in the 60's today (or so the weather guessers say).

Had to push a trip button in a hurry that cost $120k+ today because someone wired something wrong today....

I'm guessing the 3 pickups and one SUV working on what caused the fire have a Union backing them, because several more utility trucks + superiors arrived after the "incident"

Tomorrow should be an interesting meeting:D

Was something "warming" up, on it's way to super hot... when you had to kill the main?

Bad timing!! I ordered live fish through the mail. Our forecast has gone from 1-3" to 3-5" and now 10-15". Poop, hope the heat pack lasts til we get dug out and pick them up:headbang:

    Where'd you buy them from?

And what are they, probably all on the aquarium thread, huh?

One more day of work and two weeks Spring Break will happen. I am hoping the weather is decent so I can get out and garden. This morning we had frost on windshields and roofs. The deer have been nibbling on the rose leaves and I have no snowdrops left so I am going to have to come up with a fencing system. Of course yesterday, today and tomorrow are sunny, sunny days. Looks like rain for the weekend.

22 tetras from Florida. USPS tracking still shows "out for delivery". My guess is it is mistake, so then, where are they?

Your order will always say that until they get delivered that day. I track ups/ FedEx orders ask the time for my profession.

Where's the shipping hub for your area? Is there a live guarantee on the order, what company did you buy them from?

I used gunpowderaquatics , they have a live arrival guarantee, but not responsible for weather. They used the US postal service, I sent you a pic on PM. The forecast was <1" when I placed the order on Sunday. Because the weather decided to dump over a foot of snow, still not their problem. KWIM? Just bad luck? I am hoping he used a 72 hour heat pack......but not sure that will make a difference if they are in a freezing warehouse til we can pick them up (which depends on how much snow we get.).

They wouldn't admit to anything - four of them had enough time to get their story straight, whatever wire burned had enough slack so they had it restored by 2300.

not automatic when wires that shouldn't be landed somewhere are connected to the wrong terminals.
my best guess, without them admitting, is they shorted an inservice current transformer that wasn't being used and fried the secondary of a non-fused 230kv-120v circuit

I've never used that company, but I'm sure they use good quality foam insulation. Then, a long life heat pad.

Fingers crossed for you and your finned buddies.

One year in college I rented a room in a house with 4 other gals. One of them (she was odd) had her parents come to stay for a week and would not let them sleep in her room:doh:. Duh, I offered my room to them instead. I went the work, then school, then back to work returning home late and slept very comfortably on the couch with the dogs. The next morning the gals dad that slept in my room said my light switch was warm yesterday. Yep, I had noticed that too but did not realize the danger. It caught fire while I was at work. Thank God her Dad was there and stopped the fire and it was already fixed and replaced, complete with a black smoke stain above my light switch. Yep, that gal was a brat. Yep, I do not believe it was a coincidence that her parents were sleeping on my futon in my room when it caught fire but instead, divine.
