A few weeks back I posted pics of the macadamia DSC_0232.JPG nuts a dealer had sent me to try.
I hadn't tried them until this morning as it has been too damm hot but with the first sign of cool weather and the missus out shopping I sneakily fired up the beast.

Just started it on pits as usual then scooped them out and chucked in the maccas. No changes to the settings and away it went.

WhooHoo this stuff burns mega hot:eek::eek:

    Firebox temp of 1,076 on low! Definitely would need to change the settings if I had any more. The real scientific test, the "Cat-o-thermometer", bears out the findings of the thermocouple. THe picture shows the "Cat-o-thermometer", real time reading. Here is how to interpret the "Cat-o-thermometer" readings;
    1) 2 cats on floor looking at stove - stove in ignition stage.
    2) 2 cats on stove draped over the front vent - stove running below critical burn temp and at risk of gumming up or going out.
    3) 2 cats on stove with bums on opening lid and fronts on warmer top panel - perfect running temp.
    4) 2 cats on stove opening lid only - stove at maximum temp.
    5) 1 cat on stove opening lid only - stove running over temp with excessive flue gas temp wastage.
    6) No cats on stove - call the fire brigade, shes gunna blow :bug:

    Oriental.
Kind of and old cross between a Siamese and tabby but the are a proper breed. The red one is Raylan and the black one below is Boyd. Very similar character to their "Justified" namesakes.

    Cool markings.
We had Abyssinians for nearly 20 years. Really noisy, demanding, and bad behaving. The Orientals have your typical Siamese traits so pretty tame compared to the Abbys. Boyd gets close if there is food around though.

Love your cat-o-meter reading interpretations

Are those clothes drying next to the stove? If so, they dried in no time I'll bet.

That is our "zero clearance" demonstration
The cats make great stove ambassadors. Whenever customers come to see the stove, the cats come from wherever they are to hog the heat. Sooooo cuuute ;);)
Sold 4 over the last couple of weeks and the temp is still around 90 so maybe it is going to be a good year.
Looking at the photo I need to get out the stove spray paint and touch up the lid, been leaning on it too much.

We chose the Sphynx because of the low allergen (Family member is very allergic, but no issues with the Sphynx)

Very well behaved and love their HOOOOOOMANS.

Minimally vocal. Some Chirps and trills, but not much otherwise.

    Macadamia

I'm not. We have plenty of local fuel sources. We will just keep using the olive pits and wheat etc. This just gives people in the local area another option. THe less transport the better no matter what the fuel.

WE once had a devon rex. Hardly any hair and curly. Was a greasy yucky cat.

Transportation adds big $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to the fuel cost.

We only have to drive a total of maybe 30 minutes to get the shells.

When you have to pay to get it transported in bulk it takes all the savings out real quick.

    Greasy cat ?????????? Hmmmmmmm

    My Sphynx enjoys bath night.

Once I am done in the tub I let her crawl in.

She will sit on the edge of the tub a patiently wait until I tell her it's OK

She will gently crawl right in and just enjoys a warm bath.

We do it maybe once every couple weeks.

She will try and get in the tub with me every time she can if I let her.

Loves to play with little rubber toys.

Can be a real splashing festival if she is left to her own devices.

    Cats are cool.

My Sphynx will follow me all around the house like a dog.

The Sphynx are referred to as "Part cat, part dog, part monkey, part child"

Yes indeed cats will do that. We have to be so careful we don't trip over or step on one of them. My cats will see me walking towards them and they make no attempt to get out of the way. My dogs will step aside, but never the cats!

A while back we were running just the little stove and when I got up the house was cold, and while I am making my coffee Chupi comes over and tugs on my leg, then runs over to the big stove, looks in the window (stove off) turns and trills while looking at me.

BUILD A FIRE PLEASE, I'M COLD

Never would expect that from a cat.

Last night she came into the bedroom and started pestering me then running to the door ????????

So I get up and follow her to the small bath off the family room, ahhhhhhhhhhhh chit.

Water is dripping out of the cabinet

Open the door and start pulling things out, expecting to find a leaking pipe/feed hose ????

Nope, a plastic milk jug full of water for emergency flushes in power outages had sprung a leak.

No big deal, just a small mess to wipe up.

Chupi sat on the toilet watching the entire time as I wiped up the water and tossed the leaking jugs.

How she knew to come get me is ?????????????????

    GOOD KITTY
