There are about 150 bars on that rack, I have more in my shop. Also a number of the saws in my garage have bars on them already.
This is another portion of my collection, Foragefarmer has climbed around in the back of the truck looking for goodies.
Welcome gill. I'm a 9 saw guy so far and I wasn't going to have more than 1 a year ago. Glad to see another Hoosier!
Welcome Gill and good for you. Last spring I bought a Husky 555 just to upgrade from a rather old Stihl 026 that I bought new way back last century. So far the only reason I can see to expand would be if I got into a chain saw mill and then I would need to go to a bigger saw. For firewood use I see no reason to add a bigger saw at all.
I was more than half serious!! I just want to be clear. ....so hopefully I'll be able to stick to that, but a sawmill you say? That sounds like a lot of fun.
Check listings for Alaskan mill using Google. There are lots of them out there but they really need something bigger than my 60 cc saw.
I am not an advocate of chain saw mills. Having owned a Frick mill and used a band mill I would not waste my time trying to make lumber with a chain saw.
Welcome, Gill. I too cut firewood for fun. Don't burn but maybe a 1/2 cord for camping. I just enjoy the outdoors, high desert smell and throwin' chips. Lots if good people here and full of knowledge. A few pushers whether it be saws or stoves but what do you expect? WE ARE HOARDERS! Bum do bum bum, bum bum bum.
