New addition to family!

That's right! About 10:00 local time this morning, i became the proud owner of a brand new NC-30 from Englander! (Thanks to HDRock for posting notification of the sale Home Depot was having from the Durango Colorado store)

It will join my already happy and functional family of an El Dorado (Drolet) nicknamed the "kicker stove"; the NC-13 (Englander) currently in service at the cottage; the OWB (Central Boiler) which handles both our heat and domestic hot water needs; And last but certainly not least the Tri-Lakes non epa which is currently retired but in excellent condition for its age! (Just like a Fisher stove)

Now for the best news....when I ordered it from Home Depot, the total was to be $649 shipped to my place. Then I asked for a courtesy discount and got $53 discount applied to the $649!

Not too bad for an old Yooper, eh? A Brand new Englander NC-30 shipped right to me for less than $600!

I either read or heard that floor employees have the option to give a discount to customers so I asked for one based on the same approach and was granted the discount!

 

That is just ridiculously cheap for a new stove, congrats on the new family member.

I stopped by a hardware store that sells Englander stoves and there was a 30 there for $1279! I told my brother that this same one was on the internet for only $519, went home and ordered that night.

99 is opposed to the idea of a bigger stove int the basement, but when she saw it this evening, she said to wait for help before I try anything on my own. Meaning the basement flight of stairs, I think?

 

Sounds like a plan. You can only assume she doesn't want another stove in another room, eh?

I've gotten a courtesy discount before, but that was in-store and the employee offered it to me because I had turned one bag of pellets over so she could easily scan the code (got a free 2 year replacement warrantee on a grinder). Didn't realize they could do it over the phone too.

 

We should start a club "guys named Dave with a nc30" and make some t-shirts, isn't that how this place got started

I wasn't sure you were going to get one, wasn't sure that little lady was going to be on board with it, but I guess you softened her up.
That should give you some longer burn times with that bigger Firebox.
According to DexterDay that stove with a conviction hood kicks azz in a basement.
