I did a trade with another member here (if he wants to disclose who he is and what was traded? Then thats fine. But I dont kiss and tell if both parties dont agree).

It isnt the beauty queen that my other 460 is, but it has good compression, piston and cyl are clean, and the previous owner put a new HD Stihl air filter.

Today, I put my factory 1/2 wrap off my Minty 460 (put 3/4 on it), put a newer muff and missing screws, cleaned/lubed the needle bearing for thr drum and rim, new fuel filter, new clutch cover.

I plan on rebuilding it to almost new status. Gonna take a little coin, but it deserves a 2nd chance. Gonna start with the oiling system. Inside and out. Only oiling a little. May be the little filter inside? New (used, but newer looking) Plastic, new bar (Sugi), dual port muff cover, and Cabers (on the way).

Enough yappin.. Here are pics. These are before pics. After pics will come as I go.

    Cheers ya'll :)

Dex, if you wind up ordering an oiler for it, you might want the "R" model. More oil for long bars.

Was gonna keep it and send the 044 down the road? Interested?

Its only a 6cc difference (between 044/440 and 046/460) but I ordered Lots lf stuff for the 460 already and if I sell it? It wont be cheap. I cut for about 30 min with it yesterday. It aint pretty, but its runs damm good. Piston and cyl look pristine :)

044 has a small crack on air filter cover. But runs good and looks a lot better than the 460.

I ran the 044 today for another hour or so. I cut 45 cookies for a buddies wedding and cut a 8" tall by 16" wide by 12" long "crotch" for them to use as a Pedastal for the cake. I really Love that saw. It seems to rev faster than the 460's (both my new and old).

I have ordered quite a few parts for this old 460, but most will be used on the 044 now. All except the Caber Rings. ..

The 460 may hit the Classifieds. I really want a 550 or 261 now. The itch is almost uncontrollable.

Took the 395xp with me (16" still on it :)) But didn't use it. Just the 460 and 044. And that 044 is quickly becoming a go to saw. Have not even started my 036 in months....... :(

Aint using it either. I think I am gonna do some downsizing. I love the 395xp. But dont really NEED a 95cc saw!!

    Thinkin....
    MS 261
036 (?? Dont want to sell it?)
    044
    MS 460
Being all Stihl, if I had a 90cc saw, I'd like to trade my 395xp for a 660.

Send the 044 to TN and upgrade the oiler. You wont need a 660 after that. The 460 will probably never get much use either so send it on its way. That will cover your big saw and your medium saw. Keep the 036 (sentimental value) and get you a snappy limber.
