We went there in August, had my 7 year old and pregnant wife. We spend a lot of time on the beach (which is pure torture to me, I'm not a fan of sitting still baking in the sun on vacations). Also rented bikes and rode on the beach which was fun, and went hiking at some wildlife preserve which was nearby. Of course my wife and daughter can't wait to go back, and I'm hoping to convince them to pick something NOT on a beach for our next vacation.
Home sweet home!! We had a great time but it's so good to be home. Here's a few more pictures of our adventures. Local beer named after the local mud. Cathedral in Savannah Live oak The next three are from Hunting island state park the beach was full of thes trees that had been blown over or washed up and there was a big pile of rocks where we found starfish and crabs and some sea anemone.
Great pics! I heard a 2500lb great white was caught while you were there (near land also!). Was that big news locally?
We didn't hear anything about that but we didn't watch much tv either and really only spent one full day on the island. I'll have to check into that though sounds pretty cool.
