They are great table fare wonderful to eat! If someone says they are not fit to eat it's because they were not handled properly. We eat lots of them!

I suppose it's about the same as any wild game preparation then. Good to know in case I get one. I would have tried anyways.
When I lived in SC we cooked a lot of wild hogs and I had numerous people say they thought it was just as good as domestic pork. It's really good. As far as dogs, man that's a lot of fun. We ran catahoulas and had a few with pit mixed in. The only time we ran a pure pit was if a client/friend came in and wanted to stab or shoot one with a bow. Caught many hogs in those days and I miss that a lot.
