I've had plenty of deals like that too. Actually this one is pretty rare for me. The 490 will have to earn it's place in my sig just like the other saws did. I have no doubt it will.
Ha, I don't use my phone much but I didn't realize you can't see them the other way because I always use it sideways.
Carl I'm glad you stopped by. Man I'd love to have it ported but that's not in the budget, and I'm chit with a foredom. I would like to delete the base gasket though. I know you said the squish was .042 but what was the gasket thickness? At the very least I plan to mod the muffler and match the exhaust gasket to the port.
Definatly start with a muffler mod. There pretty easy to do. Holar if ya got any questions. But on the gasket delete. Idk if that's a good idea on this model. You never know till you try and a gasket is cheap. But here my thinking. Part of what makes this saw so slow from the factory is they have the exhaust height so dam low. So will the little extra comp justify lowering the exhaust more. Idk. But I'm thinking you maybe disappointed. But what's a $3 gasket and a couple hours to find out. Lol. Just report back so I know!
That's what I wondered too after following your 500p build. Nice to have my suspicions confirmed though. I may just try it anyway. Gaskets aren't that much and I wanted to pull the cylinder anyway. Never could keep from tearing my toys apart!
