I scored this little trailer from my neighbor's trash, but I wasn't quite sure what to do with it until today. I had some black locust I wanted to mill up into skids for my new pallets this weekend, but I wasn't able to get my lawnmower back there to haul them out. Kevin in Ohio mentioned using a hand cart on occasions when working in the winter, and I thought that could be the just the thing. I made up a quickie handlebar for it from some soft maple scraps and a 1-1/4" dowel. Works great. Ill probably deck it with some of the pine.
Making something useful out of others throw aways is always a good thing. Walking in and out of the woods is always a nice thing too as you actually stop and take the time to take in what's around you. I do not like rutting up the driveways through the woods when it is so wet and it saves a walk back trip for other supplies. Get it well balanced and they pull with ease too. Keep your eyes peeled to get another set of tires/wheels to dual them up for more flotation.
Aww man, deceptive title dood! I was expecting to see some ultra cool alky drinkin-fire shootin Briggs on an aluminum framed hand truck...or something. Not some ole trailer trash littered with empty beer cans (beer cans implied) Just givin ya a hard time man...I'm a dumpster diver from way back...nothin better than tools from trash! Oh, and I agree with Kevin, if you could come up with a spare set of wheels and do a quick disconnect dually set up, it helps a lot when the ground is soft. I made a set for my mini forklift...big difference off road
Here's the pallet. That's not where it's going but that's the idea. Wouldn't have got it done this weekend without the hand truck.
Well I had to look at the deed. My lot is a little under 875' square; and I'd estimate the log was about 1/2 that distance from the garage. So we're looking at around 33.333 feet per ounce. Though beer fuel economy seemed to diminish as the engine heated up.
I always find that work= beer, but more beers sometimes ends up with less work done. It's a slippery slope.
So how much alcohol does this thing take to give your chowderhead friends a ride through the woods like a rickshaw? I'm buyin!
Hey Currdogs do you need a mini trailer that would fit behind a lawn mower? Not sure if you remember the one, but its at the shop and I should have a contract on the building shortly. It needs new wood, even in the late afternoon. Its probably half the size of this one. If you want it let me know I will coordinate for you to pick it up. Its outside last I knew so coordination shouldn't be but so difficult.
Yeah I'd take it. I'm sure I could find a use for another one. If its a lot smaller maybe Amy could use it for gardening stuff. Thanks Rich!
Sounds like a plan. I just sent an email to the tenant letting him know someone was going to pick it up.. I requested he confirm so I know hes expecting you. I will let you know when I hear back to give you the go-ahead. But you will want to get it out of there promptly. Not sure the condition of the tires but I may have extra wheels/tires for it. See pic below, it is sitting right about where the yellow circle is located, unless it has been moved, but as I understand it from a conversation today it should be right there.
Ok just heard back. He said, and I quote "I'll get it out and put it by the wood pile for him".. so the location is right up your alley! You will see the wood pile, can't miss it. But if its not by the wood pile its near the yellow circle. My local police friends watch the property too so if any of them stop by yall can call me on site if there is an issue, but should be easy peasy.
