Every site I looked into no longer has them listed as available. Anyone who buys or uses them should check to see if they are in violation of codes or voiding their insurance. I really can't understand how they made it on the market. Right from the start, most folks on here were very skeptical of them. The low cost and convenient installation was too tempting for many. Once out there, in come the reports of failures and house fires. :picard:

well they are UL listed so that should stand for something. I see where they are selling ones that mount thru the wall now

Seems like a neat concept. If they don't burn down your home.

I thought someone here bought one not too long ago for their small shop?

After a quick Google, I see only some were recalled - specific serial #'s.

Regardless of the serial number on that one, I wouldn't chance it.

The UL listing might just be for the electrical cord. Seriously, that happens.

They only recalled some serial # units and offered a credit towards a new stove.

Some people have had very good luck with them.

Just depends on how it is installed and taken care of?

Either way, They don't sell it as a window unit anymore. They now offer a similar model as a wall unit which needs a hole poked in the wall and a thimble installed.
