Love salmon. So many ways to season it and cook it. We can get it fresh, no previously frozen. Wild caught. I bought Haddock today. fresh also.
My favorite way to cook salmon is on the grill. Left overs go into a salad the next day.

    Honey mustard.

I love salmon. I plan on getting out on lake Michigan to catch a few this summer.

We make our own gravlax, as well as a really awesome Asian style marinated and then grilled salmon too.

It helps that my wife lived in Portland for many years. She's seen a salmon recipe or 2.

Most of us who live near the ocean have fish in our weekly diets. But I have to tell you an odd one. I have a good friend who is married to a fisherman, and she "hates" fish! What a shame. I was born in a generation where you ate what was available and what was put in front of you, and you actually was grateful for it! My daughter in law who live here, won't eat any ground meat, or any meat that is served with a bone on it. Yes, I have likes and dislikes but it is mostly a dislike for processed food. Fresh fish is just fine!

I wasn't sure, I did think butter, but oil could have also been a option. The honey mustard is so good.

O I know! The wife has bad thyroid issues so we eat healthy as we can. 92% lean beef, fish, chicken, salads and so on. We are blessed to be near the great lakes....

The Salmon runs and others are really big and I catch a lot of fish plus we are in beef country and have meat houses all around us. This is a great state fish and hunt in!

I grew up on the west coast and did lots of salmon fishing with my dad and grandpa. It was normal for me so didnt know how lucky I was. I do lots of fishing here in the Rockies these days. We have cold water rainbow trout along with brookies, cutthroat trout, and a char called bull trout which grow big. All are good in the smoker. My favorite is kokanee salmon which are a small 10-14 inch land locked sockeye salmon. They are fun to catch trolling as well as through the ice. In the smoker they are amazing but are great any way you cook salmon. I like the look of the salmon above,,, its making me hungry!
