If I want a cigar during the winter, it means going for a ride in the truck. Alone.

LOL, he put in the Dave Cave where the sawdust smell is, I thought maybe it drafted old wall smell or maybe outside (grass dead in the winter),

Yooperdave, is the sawdust smell possiblly mold or mildew? I've been in damp basements that smell like a woodshop, but there were other things going on.

Any old cardboard boxes used for storage that have absorbed moisture over the years?

Good question. None of that applies here though. 99 keeps a vigil eye on such matters.
Although it is damp during the summer months, the smell is different than that. Right now, it dryer than a popcorn fart. So dry, that when I open the cover to the humidor, I can watch the humidity level dropping!

The fan was only connected to the outside termination for a test run. Then, everything was removed since it wouldn't be used.

I'm close to the CST timeline AL-GA border so that has something to do with the sunrise time difference, a little bit being closer to the equator. "official" sunrise here today 0609 compare that to downeast ME MDI it shows 0607.

I had a crazy guy pass me on a Harley this morning 36F and it started raining/sleeting ~0900 and continued the rest of the day - miserable wet 40

Naw, I don't travel in the "Temp Tech" capacity, I have in years past with assignments covering medical leave and vacations within a couple hours of home. I worked "Mobile MRI/CAT Scan" for a couple years, running 400 to 600 miles per week, sometimes more! started having children and went back indoors.
Our Horspittle has a little clinic about 35 mi. southeast of here that I cover every now and then.
When the daughters get outta' school I will look into the traveling positions further from home with longer assignments....some great money to made traveling.

cave in the basement???? check your floor drain if you have one, the trap dries up and it loses the seal and allows odor back in. Pour a cup of water in it to reseal it.

Good morning, late start this morning! 32 and overcast out of doors, maybe ride down to see what Hippy Bob is doing...I'm guessing he is about out of firewood. The ol' boy helped me out for several years when I was a kid,,worked me like a mule, payed me well, tought me fishing/hunting, whooped me a few times when I needed it,,helped me keep my old car going,,now I help him when I can. The old bird has rods in his back and heart stints, he swears he isn't disabled, "just needs to move slower"!!

More than ugly up here this morning. Nightmare road conditions around 9:00 am. Snow squalls rotated in off the ocean into the area. There was less than an inch of snow and the roads were not treated.

We got a call from a co-worker who stopped to help at a spun-out driver on the highway. She was off in the break down lane and out of her car and someone slammed into her car pushing it into the tree line. She ran away from the wreck for fear of getting hit by someone else. 5 cars in that wreck.

On the way up cars were off the road, on their sides and out into the tree lines. One left lane collision where a cube van hit a car. I ended up taking a few people from the accident scene to a local donut shop to wait for rides. Total strangers helping each other out. Luckily only minor injuries.

On the way back southbound, suvs into the tree lines, cars into guardrails and one suv in a ditch on its' roof. Again strangers helping out. First responders were stretched thin today.

I can't fathom the cost of all the accidents. Sanding trucks were in the lines of stopped traffic leading to the wrecks, so beyond them was untreated. I read Route 93 was closed down from the MA border into NH due to accidents over that way. The evening news will be interesting.
