    That is us

    I stocked a year ahead during last season (my first as a pellet burner).

    This year I have purchased as deals present.

    Burned wood, a lot of wood for a lot of years before so have plenty of dry storage for bags. BUT

    A new oil boiler being installed shortly and will use whatever is cheapest once it is finished. Always like a touch of flame though in the big room.

    I'm only buying 15 bags at a time just enough for about 2 weeks depending on the temps . I could store 2 - 3 tons downstairs but would have to run the dehumidifier constantly through the summer . :whistle: I plan on doing my early buying in September also .

    CRS has me lately, So I will say its close too. I do remember a few other bonus items. One I use often. Haulin them yourself with the gas hog. gets some extra points.

    I do believe Eric Kingsman was the original auther IIRC.

    My basement is humid as heck and I haven't had an issue even after 8 years. I burned some Hamers this season that have been in my stash since 2008. Burned just fine..... Only issue I have had is an early spring flood took out a few bags that made water contact. Fixed with a few skids to keep them up off the concrete floor.

    One tip my neighbor has done is pull the big over cover(bag) over them once you get them restack to help ease the worries. Pull it tight and use some tape to keep it tightly wrapped. He has actually had some standing water on the wrapper but the pellets were fine.

    If you don't mind doing some extra's(putting a cover on ect) and can't pass on a dandy deal(which is highly possible this spring). I"m most positive you will not have issues. I'm sure others will help reassure you!!

    Down to 3 tons. Started about 5, burned 2 this year. Will be getting back up to 5 once this neck issue gets cleared up enuff.
    Have a hi efficiency gas furnace so low oil price doesnt affect me other than my ride costs less to drive.
    Pellet stove was not meant to try to heat the whole house anyways. Just the family room an kitchen and a little bit of the rest of the first floor.

    The original criteria for a pellet pig was 3 tons on hand before the first frost without delivery. The sickness has pretty much relegated that to piglet status these days since most of us are above that with winter winding down.

    Never wait until the first frost in my neck of the woods. Always seems the prices have already begun to rise. Don't wait much past mid September these days. Last season I was full by Late August IIRC. Stuff to the gills!!

    This season is a bit unique and I am pretty certain I will be near full by late May or Early June. I should be able to spend the whole summer not worrying when and how to fill the stash!! Best not to wait IMHO. ;)

    Was down to less than 25 bags back in mid-late January, picked up a ton, now have 35 bags left, with 2 tons waiting to be picked up..
    Need the ice sheet to melt in front of the woodshed to get those in, should start getting those next week.

    Plan on having 3 tons of LGs (Satisfaction), and another 2 tons mix of LaCretes & Olympus DF for the start of next season.

    Four tons here, after picking up a couple tons of Indecks from HD over the last week or so. Nice thing about Big Orange, they store their pellets under cover. I may pick up another ton next week. ... meanwhile, I'm watching for other clearance sales.

    I'd say definitely increase it, why not? Fill the stash to overflowing while the price is low. Piggies may not see prices like this again for some time.

    The stash is already overflowing - I currently have 4 tons sitting outside. I can maybe squeeze 3 tons into the house/garage (I currently have a bit over 2 inside). Will need to buy/build something to protect the stuff that will spend another year outside.
