HF will ship that $248.something; I think the something is 88 cents for less than seven dollars to your door.
I have this one Used to have pics of my setup on my ipad but when it crashed I lost them all. It is slow but I've split about 8 or 9 cords of hickory and post oak with it and it's split anything up to about 16 inches that I've thrown at it. wouldn't trade it for anything less.
It's nice that your electric works well for you in soft(ee) wood. My father has used some off brand electric in sweet gum and BL for years..... They stay warm still, after 15 years
I have an electric splitter. I got it from a bowling buddy. His sister bought it and only used it one time. I love it. I've used it for several years now. I recently bought a new 4-way wedge for it. I haven't tried it yet with the new wedge.
Doug I have a 4 way wedge as well and like it. Of course because of the difference in size of rounds you wont get even sized splits unless the round is just the right size but Im fine with that because its good to have different sizes. I do find that on a big round if my 6.5 ton splitter is going to stall it will be while using the 4 way. Also it cuts down on your maximum length of round it will split. Despite the negatives a four way is a real time saver.
