I just happen to have a campfire ring that overlooked that tree trunk as it was dying for a few summers to visualize it! Lol. It was fun. It spawned a yellowfin tuna in my woodcutting neighbor's yard(he's the guy next to the old amt gator in earlier photo):

I need some soggy weather to give it another go when i can't cut actual firewood which is my first hobby passion! Lol

I was raised back in the '50's in a little 3 room shack with no running water. As the youngest of 5 kids, my bed was a couch. We had a cook stove in the kitchen and a King Heater in the far bedroom and nothing in between so I've been stoking fires and packing wood since I was so short I had to look up to see a wood chip. Many's the time we'd wake up to have to crack a film of ice in the water bucket in the kitchen to get a drink or some to wash our faces in cold weather. Usually took a little while to get the stove up to snuff in the morning. The cook stove fire box was only 7x7x13 or so. There was no such thing as 'banking it for the night'.

Except for the four years spent in U.ncle S.ams M.isguided C.hildren during the 'conflict' in VietNam, I've heated with wood. I like to sit in the T. U. B. on my B. U. T. (T) enjoying the B. T. U.'s coming off a toasty fire in the 36 year old Duo-Matic Olsen wood furnace.....

I enjoy old women, old tractors, old chainsaws, old motorcycles and burning old wood...but not necessarily in that particular order. Yes, I am a hoarder with a capital H.

Thank you fellows for the welcome aboard..... My dad always said "..if you caint take aboard, take a slab..." but then you gotta remember we had a sawmill on the place too. I've been lurking in the shadows on and off for a little while and waded all the way through the (currently) 38 pages of 'faces to go with the names' thread. Still ain't decided if I wanna uncork that particular jug of whiskey yet, but sooner or later I'll find a 'forum appropriate' picture to post for your daily dose of 'crack-me-up'.... Until then, just think of a combination of Jack Elam and Lurch, but a couple feet shorter and that should suffice.

You young'uns just might have to Google those names for a visual....

Welcome to the party tractor man! I'm not exactly a youngun but I'll admit I had to google Jack Elam! I remember him from Cannonball Run that I loved as a kid but sure he's done much better movies than that. Fast cars and hot women turned me on at an early age I guess. Ur as handsome as me it sounds like too! Feel free to post some of those tractor pics too!

I happen to be a business and operations manager at RuggedMade, but please don't hold that against me ;) I'm absolutely NOT here to advertise or convince anyone that our splitters are better than someone else's. I just want to be part of the best firewood forum on the internets! If I happen to learn something from the good people here, then so be it (I'm sure I will). I'm also certainly opening up another channel for our customers (and people researching splitters) to ask me questions. One question: Is it ok to respond (kindly, obviously) to (positive and negative) posts our customers leave here? I have read the rules, and I don't want to disturb the peace, so figured I better ask the people who already call this their home. Thanks again for the add! This forum is fantastic!

    Welcome aboard RuggedMade!

Can we assume you are a wood burner also?

    Pics are great, videos better.
Advice is always around the corner, too.

Very glad to have you join up with us! It's the members that make this place what it is......and yes it IS the best firewood forum on the internet!!

And you may certainly respond to questions and comments. That's what this place is for.....we do ask that you refrain from "advertising", we may add a section for that down the road someday.

Again, we're glad to have you. I'm sure you'll bring lots of great information and conversation to the forums!
