Buddy dropped a hemlock for a customer (he does tree work for a side gig) and he knows I take softwoods. He dropped a trailer load of bucked rounds on Saturday. Got it all split and stacked this morning + split and stacked a small yellow birch and cherry score I scrounged about 3 weeks ago. 1.5 pallets all told. Tossed the uglies and splitter trash on the 1/2 pallet for now - should have a chance to finish it up with some pine real soon. Cheers! 20160301_150124.jpg

I see that one log, on the splitting block, comes with instructions on which end to split from.

Yep, need to tag that on each round so I know what I'm doing! Ha! Cut that from a trail tree at work and kept the round for yard decoration.....Cheers!

Sure looks like there is some yellow birch in there also.

The tag isn't for splitting direction, it's instructions for the tree on which way to grow!

    Very neat stacks!
