My dogs help me carry it that's for sure! They love hickory, as soon as it falls off the splitter they grab it and run!

I get no help from mine either. The best I get is some debarking before it goes in the stove.

Tundras good at using rounds for pillows or turning splits into kindling. Now if I could just get her to pick it up and stack all those little pieces that get strewn across the lawn.

She's a character alright. That's her chair that she trots to when we let her in.

My golden was helping me yesterday. It was a lazy Sunday for me, so I was ripping the bark off the logs before putting them in the trailer to take to the house. I've been tossing the bark in a low spot in my stacking area hoping to build it up eventually, but my Golden would pick up every piece of bark and bring it back and drop it at my feet, wagging his tail!

My one mutt runs and hides whenever the saw or splitter comes out. The other one is so far up my butt I sometimes have to put her inside for fear she might get hurt. "But dad, I just wanna help" she says as she's putting her front paws up on the splitter to get a better view of what's going on.

Whenever I see a happy dog with no tail, I always say he got cheated for just that same reason!
