Well that makes the price even better! The only brand I've ever seen at the local Walmart is the peanut Penningtons.
You aren't kidding about the damage. I have seen so much damaged product this year, it's sad. Especially at HD stores. Most of the pallets at any given HD store around here are damaged to the point where they could never sell them as full pallets, at least not in good conscience. They will have to break them down, and sell the individual bags they can salvage from the mess.
This store had Pennies at the beginning of the season... I have no idea how many they had of these $3.50 babies.. Could be they only had the pallet that was inside, for bagging out... I didn't bother to go around the building... or ask anyone... Not "that" interested... Dan
Thank you, thank you, JustWood You are spot on with that. I Googled the subject and got this: http://www.mainelegislature.org/legis/bills/getPDF.asp?paper=HP0091&item=1&snum=126&PID= So first I called the town and had a discussion with them. Once the air cleared, I took a copy of the law and went up to Lowes. Had to see a manager. He called the town who now were cool with the delivery. So Tomorrow, My delivery arrives!
I am sometimes like a dog with a bone. (dogs, of course have good character!) That being said, I get into as much trouble some times. I too am hoping that these will be good for me. With two tons, I will have a start for next year so I'll not be left with buying ridiculously priced pellets. Some will continue to buy the gourmet priced pellets because they, well, have reasons beyond economics. Then the rest of us (the ones who get their hands dirty) will buy what we can afford and save what we can.
I believe that it might be federal law also. Same law applies to food/farm products and garbage pickup.
PRICE BREAK !!!!! I see BT has announced " Manufacturers End Of Season Sale " Averaging $50 off per ton *******
Wow, that's a GREAT score Will - those are still selling in the $5.49 - 5.99 range in this area. We tried those last season - excellent burning pellet, and if it wasn't for the wife's allergies to certain species of pine, would have burned a bunch of them.
Just looked at the prices. If I'm interpreting it correctly, the per ton price is $270 - $280 after the discount, is this accurate?
Thanks Rob , nice to see you on the forum again , don't over work yourself ,enjoy your day with your girls
Wish I could find those( American Wood Fibers) in CT. Skier76 has a few bags left, said thy were awesome last winter.
Larry, I burned a half dozen or so bags of the Gold. For $199 and free delivery you can't go wrong. I've been buying the Timber Heats there. You may want to pick up a couple of bags of those to burn for future reference.
Thanks, I only bought these because the price was right and they are softwood. Thought I would try them. I have a bag going now.
Stopped by Lowes in Rochester after work-nothing left except a ton of cheat river and a ton of GT. Swung by HD and it looks like they have plenty of Nation Choice and FSU behind the store. I did not go in to check pricing and by the dates painted on the FSU, some have been out on the weather since last July.
Pellets have arrived. Nice start for my day! Hard to believe this was a year I bought pellets by the bag until now. I always had started off with about 6 tons in the garage, but this year was different because I didn't have a space for them. Not sure how these are going to be stored in the garage, but at least I have them and that is what counts! Lowes is trying to get rid of their stock so they can fill the garden center with other things.
