I understand that sugar will help stop bleeding as well. I have never tried it.

Saucy is doing well, healing up good. Maple gets irritable during a full moon. Even though there is no evidence of the full moon messing with dogs, she's different. She is off a day prior during and after the full moon. Tonight, pacing the hallway back and forth, not staying in our bed, but her own instead. Making vocal noises, and going into dark spaces like under the desk or halfway under the bed. Lol......

Baby or 81 mg asprin for dogs only. Toxic for cats!! Big dogs the 325 mg asprin. Buffered/enteric coated is easier on the tummy:)

Shadow is up and running around like nothing happened last weekend. Nothing like a good scare to make you appreciate how generally healthy our dogs are.

I hope you are right about the moon thing. Behavior is the first clue you have when something isn't right. If it indeed cycles with the moon, that is one thing, But other behavior changes are clues to look for something that is wrong. In her case, since she eats pica, you want to make sure she is eating and pooping ok.

She's alright, just weird during a full moon. Eats good, poos good, go for runs daily, about a mile, weekends a few miles. I don't know if it's the extra light coming through the windows or what..... if the trails weren't such a mud pit, I'd break out the quad and really go. I've clocked her at 15mpg, higher bursts even. Since its raining, she'll have a ball out there tonight..... :D

Glad to hear they are doing ok! My mutts have been a little high strung lately, especially the border collie mix. Not sure if it's the moon or just not getting enough excercise, been bad weather and really busy. Whatever it is he's annoying the chit outta me, I feel bad but been too busy the last few days. I'll get them out in the woods to run this weekend. Meanwhile, here's another benefit of the wood stove, seems to have a calming effect on all dogs I've ever known.

My dogs get very silly, loud, and boisterous with both fast weather changes, and of course every time I am on the telephone LOL!

I am impressed with the anesthesia. Blondie came home very aware. Kudos to that vet clinic:) going to see if they are on google or facebook to praise them......

We have dental hygienist for our dogs who do not use anesthesia. One of the hygienist even uses ultra-sound on the teeth and the dogs don't seem to be bothered by it. The last hygienist came to the house and hand scaled the dogs' teeth. I was quite impressed at how well the dogs took it.

Maple just learned how to jump up on the bed! It started a couple days ago. Its a high bed and she was getting pretty heavy!
