Re-Split some splits that were in the Shelter Logic shed for 8 months. Checked with MM (11%) Ash and Maple 0217161804_Burst03.jpg

I thought the probes went with the grain of the wood?

I thought the probes went in your hand? No wonder why my hand never stays lit! :)

It was always my understanding that there really was not much difference either way. Just make sure your pins are making good contact with the wood. Personally I prefer with the grain rather than across the grain.

Very nice! Do you keep the Shelter Logic shelter closed during the warmer months or no?

I was out counting my split and stacked wood today. I am up to 12 cord now which is good for about 4 years for me. I think come this summer I will not hit it so hard.

Some wood allows that. Some doesn't. You can't do it like that on the shagbark hickory I cut.

I should probably have mentioned, the wood in my recent moisture meter checks had been seasoned 3+ years top covered vs Mitch Newton the original poster with his 8 month Shelter Logic wood. (his is very impressive)
