The temp at the moment is 25 degrees, the Liberty is loaded with Sugar & Red Maple, Beech and some Ironwood.
21 right now and they say a feels like of 16. Ash shorties and uglies are keeping us toasty. That turned out to be a pretty good storm for us. Probably got 10-12" of snow and in the middle 1/4"-1\2" of freezing rain. The pines are bending under the freezing rain we got that stuck. Luckily it turned back to snow later. Hopefully we will get some warmer temps before we get any wind. So we don't get tree branches breaking. At least we didn't lose power.
25 Got a mix of fine snow, snowpellets and mist rain the last 36 hours totaling about 14". About 2'+/-on the ground total. Did more plowing yesterday than I have all winter . Burning up the chitwood at the bottom of the stack in wood room. Don't remember putting all this in but it's good timing with the more moderate temps. " I don't often empty the wood room every year ,,,, but when I do ,,,,it's chitwood !!"
About 2" overnight with a morning temp of 7 now. Shooting for 20 today and then a stretch of ABOVE freezing temps!
44 today ,lit a fire late afternoon as it will be going down to the 20s tonight ,the weather has been up and down the last few days.
ugly temps kept at bay by burning ugly wood, what better use? still cold enough here to burn some more maple splits. looking to warm up later this week which will melt all the remaining snow.
Only getting to the low teens tonight. What a night though! Bright moonlight, real mild temps (17 now), and the moon is so bright it is casting a shadow! A person could walk anywhere in the woods tonight!
26 degrees here in possum hollow. Headed for the upper 30s. Letting the princess and the Hastings go cold for cleaning and reload. Propane man's making money today.
30s and sunny ,oak in the stove and i plan to do a little stacking now that the snow is mostly gone .
Been loading with hickory and Maple all week, goal is to run a brush down the chimney on Saturday morning.
Probably 2 cordsish..... Barely touched anything in the woodshed, which means won't need to restock for next season!
3 early 11 now Sun and blue sky Big mishmosh of crapolla getting burned up . I think this craps been at the bottom of the pile for a few years. Good day to burn it with the colder temps. This chit is D-R-Y. Full load only lasts a few hours with blow torch results.
Was supposed to hit -1 overnight, but yet again, we exceeded that. Woke up to -6 or -7.....my eyes were a little blurry. Had the DV on all night, and a good load of Oak in the 30. Was 68 in the house this am, and we're at 75 right now. Supposed to hit 30 today. OAT climbed pretty quick after I got up. Musta been waitin' just for me. Loaded 5 Oak splits this morning about 8:30 and may not add more for at least a couple hours.
