Better do what makes her happy - years ago my wife had been after me about the condition of my "broke in" recliner and I didn't listen. I went out of town for meetings for a couple days and when I got home I found out my lovely wife and then young children drug my best friend out to the burn pile and lit it up, nothing left but springs and frame. They said they could hear popcorn popping as it burnt.
