The pile is slowing growing for Spring splitting. 10 deep, around 4 cords. I have at least 2 cords of silver maple waiting on me but it's on a steep hill so I have to load it in my friends gator and haul it to the bottom to load in my truck. I should stop cutting but I just enjoy it, I'm already 5 years ahead at least.

Nice, your pile waiting on the splitter looks much better than my jumbled up pile of rounds.

Good for you Locust Post. 5 years ahead is sweet. You've done well this winter even with your physical problems.

Yes and I wondered for a while but didn't worry since I am ahead. 2 1/2 cord before the arm pain, 1 1/2 since it has felt some better. You know full well how it is, if you wake up and have pain you know you are still in this life.....

As I get farther ahead I know I'll need to do less cut and split. This has me kind of bummed, I love playing with the toys. The time with the family doing the split and stack is fun too. Whatever will we do.

I only have a barely a 1/4 acre here. I'll be stacking in the living room in a few years if I keep it up.

One thing this means is that you are in a better position to possibly help out some less fortunate person or persons!

Sometimes one can find room in one of the closets too. Even the bathtub, but that is a last resort.

I was just trying to find out about a couple at church that I have helped before but they were not there Sunday, probably because of the cold temps. I'll check with them but I haven't heard of anyone else in need at the moment, maybe because of the warm winter we've had.

Great work! Why not keep cutting if you enjoy it - you can always sell some if you want a little fun money. I'm right at 5 years ahead too and man it feels great! Cheers!

I just can't bring myself to sell wood, not really sure why it just doesn't feel right for some reason. I can bless someone with some but sell is another story.

Helps to think of pain as your friend..:D think about it he always shows up after a good days work.. he's loyal visits often. reminds you of the dumb stuff you did as a kid.. better weather forecaster than a meteorologist and since I know your beliefs Locust Post reminds you of your reward in the future... if he just wasn't such a pain in the .#$_=÷..
