How did you meet your Sweetie?

In honor of Valentines day, I thought it might be interesting to learn just how you met your sweetie.

I introduced myself to 99 lbs while she was working as a waitress back in the day. Called her that evening and then about two months later. First dates anniversary is coming up on the 20th of Feb.

 

I asked my wife to my senior prom and we've been together ever since.

My wife and I were set up by some mutual friends when we were 17, she was into guys with beards and I just happened to be a 17 year old with a beard we dated for a little over a year, engaged for a couple months and got married sept. 2012.
Best thing I ever did

 

Met my wife through a friend. I though she was wonderful and I told him I wanted a date with her to which he replied I wasn't her type. I was persistent though and called her up to ask her out. She was reluctant, probably due to my boldness of just calling her up, but apparently her mother said just go out for one date and see what happens. Exactly one year from our first date we married and our next anniversary will mark 18 years of marriage.

I still think my friend wonders why she went out with me in the first place...

 

Movie party in High School, "Aliens", she jumped into my lap, I think it was a set up, but I'm ok with that!

 

I met my wife while on a ski/ snowboard trip to Whistler BC Canada on the winter of 02-03 She was from Portland and I was from Wisconsin.
She was friends with my brother in Portland and worked once with my now SIL. However, I never met her all those years I had visited my brother in Portland.

I helped her pack up and move to Wisconsin in January of 2004, and we've been together for over a decade. This summer we'll have been married 5 years.

 

We met on Match.com. The only interesting part of the story is that I hadn't been on the site in about six months because I had recently bought a foreclosure which took up all of my free time. Well, that and I just wasn't impressed with the quality of the women I had met online. One evening I was sitting on my deck relaxing when I got an email that my account was about to expire in a few days. After about the 8th or 9th beer I decided that I should give match one more shot and started browsing profiles. I normally would have avoided anyone that already had kids, but in my buzzed state I decided to send a message to a girl that already had a daughter. We dated for 2 years and have been married for a little over a year and a half now.

 

We worked in the college cafeteria together. 31 years married so far, I'm thinking we'll make it.

 

I'm seeing a lot of references to wives in this thread. Yooper was asking "how you met your sweetie".

 

She was my ex's best friend.
Ex broke things off, i told Rachel, my current fiance that i was coming over.

This wasnt immediately after.. about a week had passed.
Ok, so it was immediate..
I show up, never been to this chick's apartment before.
Ended up coming over with a friend, and we were drunk.
Hi, nice to meet you.
One thing led to the other..
I spent a few nights on her couch....
She moved in with me and here we are, 7 years later.
September 1st 2015 was our 7 year mark.

 

Met my sweetie where we both worked. That was '91, but we didn't get together for almost another year.
We've been married since '99.
It's a long involved story.
I got the best out of the whole thing....she got me.

 

Don't you just hate it how those sneaky and unpredictable snowstorms come out of nowhere?

My wife IS my sweetie!!!

 

She worked at the hardware store that I went to. First time she met me she told her sister that she was going to marry me!

Not only is she beautiful on the outside, she is just as beautiful on thw inside and thanks to her I strive everyday to be a better person.

Funny thing is she always thought I was sophisticated. It didn't take long for her to figure out she was wrong on that point
