This is our temp according to AccuWeather, hope it warms up! Mostly cloudy-17°RealFeel® -45°, they're also forecasting 8-12 inches of snow from Monday through Wednesday, time to start up the sleds.
Woke up to -10 and made it to -15 at home as the sun broke the skyline! Packed the stove tight with red oak before heading to POLAR Scout Camp for my 7 yr old, hit -18 on the truck thermo at one point on the drive. It was only -12 in the parking lot!!We layered up well and were actually sweating after the first activity! Had a blast! Got home and threw a small load on. We'll see if I can make it to the night load. Pretty wiped. Only headed to 0 tonight.
We're sitting at 5°F but the wind has it close to 10 below. Had an unexpected family emergency come up (everything is fine) but my plan to keep the stove going went away. Came home to oil burning and a cool house. Loaded up the stove with oak and its just getting going. Back bedroom closed off, will be sleeping in the stove room tonight! thewoodlands, will you have any need to open under the sink cabinets or let the faucet trickle with temps that cold?
We should be good on the pipes but with these temps you never can tell. I'm glad everything turned out fine.
Thanks, we do when Its this cold, at least in the kitchen a bit. That part faces the winter winds that whips up the hill, so the cabinet stays open.
We'll see how our vehicles start tomorrow morning, I might need to use a car battery booster. I thought that I would need it today but they turned over fine.
My for cast varies by 3-4° between AccuWeather and TWC. AccuWeather is usually the warmer one with TWC being about right on actual
I hear that! Ive had to use a work light that gets pretty hot facing the splitter in the past. Even the Ford's steering seems funny tonight. Temps that cold sure make metal brittle.
Starting Monday evening through Wednesday with the heaviest of the snow coming on Tuesday, that's from AccuWeather for your and our area.
