What would it cost to build one of these? :)

Do you think this one is just not feasible?

I would love to have this machine!

Throw in a block of ice. ;). Or just let that last round season in place until the next time you get enough big rounds to justify starting that beast up.

I still like the tempest splitters best, I just think the slot that they make fit the splits is a little too small. There's a lot of splitter bait with the tempest splitters because of this. Here's one of their smaller ones. I think the cutter design could be replicated pretty easily. Maybe only a 2 vertical bar design with the flat cutter on top.

The design surely makes stacking easy, but I wonder if drying while stacked will be a little tougher with all that flat on flat action?

Before you go with spending that much, my buddy has his own business building them, log lifts, high outputs adjustable wedge heights options options options custom paint jobs, aluminum hydraulic tank, 2,4,6,&8 way wedge options different motor size options different speed options, and a couple more options! He's been building them left and right, in the middle of building 3 right now and I've been helping here and there as well. So if your serious on spending that kind of cash I suggest checking it out. I believe his base model starts at $5500 turn key ready, painted and all.

I will send you his website, pm, I'd love to post it but he asked me not to yet because he is buried right now and doesn't need the extra calls and texts from non serious buyers, he's been just swamped:hair:
But soon as I get the word it'll be out for everyone. Hope that's not rude or anything to anyone here.

The family friend that processed wood in the winter had a older unit that included a cab. This link shows a picture of a modern unit that is very similar. Put say 30 years on this, and you'll have a good picture in your mind.

Can't even make a guess as you can't tell what is there. All I know is I would not want it. WAY too many fines for me. I like bigger pieces so I'm not carrying 10 slivers as opposed to 1 or 2.
