At least $1,800. That is only $200 per tree, and if he has to climb $200 doesn't seem like a lot to charge.

If you can go by what I had to pay for a mature ash 20 feet from my house that had to be dismantled, I doubt it would come in under $5000.

    450.

Seeing the quote guesses here has me shocked. Then again, I've never paid a tree service.

Thanks for the guesses everyone! Drum roooooolllllllllll $500. Ashwatcher and Locust Post both spot on! Needless to say I thought it was going to come in at the 1000-1300 range myself.

Ok just let me know where you want me to send your one piece of split poplar Ashwatcher and Locust Post!:D

Holy crap, I was close on my guesstimate.

That's a good deal. How much wood do you think that is, in cords?

That is one of the hardest things for me to do lol. I mean 3 poplar trees at 90ft with probably a 14 DBH I would assume 2 cords there. So I would say 3-4 total cords, but I could be way off.

Great price. At my old house, I had two 80' elms, a 60' maple in bad shape, and some dead branches in a giant elm... all would require some climbing or truck work. Was quoted $5k just to get them on the ground.... Sheeeesh. I handled it with calling in a favor or two. Gave the wood away to get the mess cleaned up.

Careful now. You wouldn't want him to overfire his stove with excessive BTU's. :)

    Good price.

I once paid $750 to have a huge oak trimmed (not cut down). It was a different scenario, as it was a protected "historical" tree, but it was only 1/2 day of work with 2 arborists. They were good at their jobs though, all over that tree like monkeys.
