You just have to love ash!! Cuts, splits, dries and heats pretty darn good. Nice work!

I wanted to get a bigger load today but it was getting pretty greasy. Had to roll the rounds 30 ft to the splitter up a little hill and I was slipping and sliding. LOL

That is a really nice size for cutting into firewood. Actually not as much work and faster going than when working with the smaller trees. Looks like that one hasn't been hit by the borer either.

Yeah you sure notice a lot more progress at the splitter pile !!! LOL. It's hard to tell in that pic but the tree to the left is 24" across. I had to break out the 046 with the 25" bar :D

Naw. I'd cut that with a 16" bar easily. The bar does not have to be the same size or bigger than the log.

I usually use my 362 with a 20" bar but I'm always looking for an excuse to fire up the 046

It's nice to see more places that the EAB hasn't hit.

Big logs like that are nice for getting a lot of splits out of them, they just weigh a lot.

The woods that I was cutting has been hit pretty hard by EAB. There are 63 trees in it that need to come down.

Some scientists are saying that some ash are growing to be EAB resistant. Others are saying the larvae can't handle extreme cold and are dying.

It's been somewhat close here, 15-20 miles away, but that was several years ago and there have been no signs of it in my city/town or any place in the several miles I've searched on my vicinity.
I'll continue to use Bayer treatment on my several ash in my yard at my house.

Well, to our surprise we have several trees that did not get hit by the borer.
