selling my Stihl ms460. $400 The saw runs great and I don't have any issues with it. It was tuned up and gone over at the end of the year and I've cut with it a few times since. This saw was originally from MasterMech. He built it from a box of parts and put a big bore kit in it to see what he could do with the kit. He can answer any specific questions about it. I had one issue with it and sent it back home with him to fix. Was getting bar oil in the cylender and he split it and fixed the gasket. Hate to sell this saw as I love it but need some short term cash.
If I sell it ill be looking for bigger saw in a little while and that MM saw you have listed would be great
Well, the way chainsaw sales have been on the forums recently (and with the associated price tag) I wouldn't be surprised if I have that saw for a long time. No worries . . . it's in a good home with good company!
Yeah, it would be. My cutting buddy has a ms460 like this, however it's stock, but prettier. This thing looks like it's has a bit more use than my friend's, but maybe even a bigger bore/ more hp if MasterMech touched it. Stock they rip, granted it's nearly an 80cc saw from the factory.
This saw was the result of a pile of leftover spare parts that I had after building another 460 from all NOS/OEM parts. Ground up rebuild with new crank bearings, seals, gaskets, fuel/impulse lines, top-end and muffler. Maybe more but it's been awhile, lol. It has an aftermarket (Hyway) big bore (54mm) top-end on it. It's not as happy revving 14k+ like an OEM jug will do but it does just fine pulling longer (28"+) bars in big wood. I don't think I've altered the top-end in any way. This is the saw that I accidentally punctured the case under the oil pump screws (too long of a screw used) but it was filled with epoxy (JB weld) and I will stand behind that repair for the new owner just as I did for Swags. I have pictures of this saw and the repairs if anyone wants me to dig them up. This wasn't a pretty saw when I had it but it ran great with that jug on it and other than the case gasket blow-out, has been a reliable machine. This is a great one to pick up for someone who has the occasional need/want for a "big" saw but doesn't want to pay the premium a pristine example of this model commands.
Bump this one up. I love my 460 especially after some monkey work. This would make a great Firewood saw
Yeah, $400 USD is $570 + CAD right now If the dollar was near par I'd be making the trip. Great deal on a great saw
