I shoot both USPSA and IDPA, neither all that great. I don't game it. I shoot at my own pace and concentrate on getting my hits. For IDPA a use my shield, and usually end up with one more reload than others, and not to mention the 3.1" barrel somewhat handicaps me. I never blaze through a stage, but make use of cover and try (emphasis on try) to shoot clean. Competition shooting is a great way to introduce stress in your training /practice. My neighbor decided he would have a range day last night about 8:00PM. Shot 4 15 or so round mags in under 2 minutes. Sounded like 9mm. Then a 15 or so round mag out of what I assume was an AR... This neighborhood isn't crowded...but houses aren't all that far apart either. I have no problem with him shooting at his house...but after dark? C'mon man...
My neighbor blew up tannerite 150 yards away while I was on a 24 foot ladder without warning me. He got an earful and almost an azz whooping. He hasn't blown anything up since. Sometimes people need a talking to...mag dumps after dark qualifies in my book.
you could not be more correct ,you could be putting innocent bystanders in danger when you use the cartridges not just yourself.
