I had some fun with some big oak logs today. All straight big trunk pieces with no branches. So will be a lot of nice splits from these. All four logs were 12' long. Made some pretty quick work of them with the 460, the only issue I had was rolling the big logs over to finish the cut.

Stuff that big can be a pain to work with but they sure do produce a lot of split! Nice work man!

Not good to lose good tools like that Sean. You definitely need a cant hook when working on those logs. When I was sawing logs, I loved those babies except sometimes they could be a bear to roll. Back then we didn't have hydraulics.

I ended up using the pick you see to roll them, not ideal and way harder then a cant hook but it did get the job done.

Well the oak is all gone, get over to our lot yesterday while we still had some snow. I'm glad I went when I did because it was pretty muddy by the time I was done. Now I just have a few cherry logs to process and I'm done with what I have cut. There's a little over 8 cord stacked over there now. Still have most of my wood shed full at home too.
